Starboard CRE’s David Cotton Gets Inducted into The International Swimming Hall of Fame

We are proud and honored to announce Starboard’s long-time leasing and sales associate, David Cotton, has been awarded the 2021 Honor Masters Diver at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which took place on October 9, 2021. Among the nine Class of 2021 honorees, David was the only diver inducted among four swimmers, one coach, one water polo player, one synchronized swimmer, and one contributor.

David’s background in diving brings a unique skillset to Starboard and his clients. David started diving at Terra Linda High School. He became the State Diving Champion while at the College of Marin, earning himself a full athletic scholarship to Pepperdine University. He’s since competed in Springboard and Platform competitions for over 45 years, earning in total 49 national and 15 world gold medals. David has recently redefined the sport by including more creative feet-first entry dives.  He also gives back as a diving coach at two High Schools in Marin and certified diving judge at collegiate and international events.

His hunger for excellence translates to his work as a commercial broker. Since the '80's, David has been working in real estate, trained in his father's firm, Cotton Realty. He’s also a licensed General Contractor. In 2004 he took over his family founded Motor Vehicle Towing and Storage business, juggling Law Enforcement Rotation, Private Property Towing, Vehicle Lien Sales and Industrial Leasing for his company until 2018. He's also raised 3 daughters. David's fierce tenacity, common sense and his “been there, done that" attitude is why clients choose to keep him near.

Congratulations to David on this lifetime achievement!
