(Chicago, IL - ) Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide is pleased to announce that two of the firm’s industrial real estate projects: Freeman and Sunstar Americas, Inc. - North American Headquarters earned recognition by making the short list of nominees for the 2013 NAIOP Awards for Excellence.
Behind the deal: Freeman in McCook, IL
Bridge Development Partners, LLC, along with Akard Street Partners, is building a 365,359-square-foot built-to-suit corporate facility on approximately 25 acres for Dallas-based Freeman Decorating Services, Inc. This facility will be in close proximity to their existing operations already in McCook. Jerry Sullivan and Ed Wabick of Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide represented Freeman locally, along with Tom Sutherland of CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners in Dallas, in the 15-year lease and build-to-suit transaction. The new facility will be designed by Cornerstone Architects Ltd. and constructed by Premier Design + Build Group, LLC. Vern Schultz and Tom Condon of Colliers International represented the building owner.
Behind the Deal: Sunstar Americas, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL
Sunstar Americas, Inc. North American Headquarters will be located east of the intersection at Central and Roselle Rd Schaumburg. Gregory Wright, Les Spinner and Adam Naparsteck of Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide completed a land acquisition of nearly 80 acres on behalf of Sunstar Americas, Inc., which was the result of 4.5-year search for an appropriate site. The seller was the Archdiocese of Chicago and was not represented in the transaction. Sunstar plans to build an approximate 300,000 square foot North American headquarters and manufacturing facility with an estimated total project cost of over $40MM. The new building will accommodate the expansion and relocation of their operations from Chicago. General Contractor is Peak Construction and primary architect is Heitman Architects. Located in unincorporated Cook County, the site will be annexed into Schaumburg, Illinois.
